Prioritizing limb-sparing treatments

We specialize in techniques that give patients the best possible outcomes without amputating arms, legs or other appendages.

During limb-sparing surgery, only the tumor and any of the affected bone or tissue in the surrounding area is removed.

The excised area is then reconstructed using metal implants, muscle flaps and transfers, or bone grafts.

Our goal is not only to preserve limbs, but to maintain as much function and mobility as we can.

Multi-disciplinary team working for you

Our surgeons work with a large team specializing in:

  • Adult and pediatric medical oncology
  • Integrative medicine
  • Musculoskeletal radiology
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Pain management
  • Pathology
  • Physical therapy and rehabilitation
  • Radiation oncology

We also have a dedicated nurse navigator on staff, who helps guide patients through the treatment process and provides referrals to support resources when needed.

For maximum convenience, all of our specialists are located on one campus, eliminating the need to travel to multiple offices.

Collaborative care for optimal limb function

Our orthopedic oncology team collaborates closely with the physical therapy and rehabilitation experts at Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

By working hand in hand, we provide comprehensive care that spans from surgery through recovery, both in the hospital and afterwards. Our integrated approach aims to preserve maximum limb function and mobility, helping patients regain independence and transition smoothly back to their daily lives.
